La Bamba is an amazing taqueria if you don't want to go all the way to the city for your "Mission Style Burrito". Don't expect any frills here, but only to walk away 3 lbs heavier, assuming you're going to put away a massive burrito or a box full of nachos.

We like to come in the morning for breakfast burritos or pupusas. They also make their pupusas every day. For afternoon or dinner, sometimes we get nachos, tacos, or quesadillas with carne asada or carnitas.

They're consistent with huge portions. They give you the right amount of guilt you should walk away with when you go to a taqueria.

The tacos are good here but I like the burritos at Speedy's Tacos better compared to the super burrito here. I tried an al pastor taco, which was tasty, and got a super quesadilla for the kids. I liked my taco best of all the things we got and want to try other types of meat next time. Their chips and salsa were pretty good but the salsa has slight kick. Next time, I'd ask them to leave it on the side for the quesadilla because it made it too spicy for the kids.

They also blow up a giant bouncy house for kid to play in. This was probably the highlight of my daughter's young life and possibly a good enough reason alone to return lol We also saw Mark Zuckerberg here with his wife so you know it's good because he can eat anywhere!

I always thought La Bamba went out of business after they built the apartment complex on Middlefield Road BUT TODAY I FOUND THEM!!! And I'm so happy because the food is STILL amazing. Can't wait to go back!

::ONE TIP:: the reason I gave them 4 stars is because the restaurant doesn't look to good inside. They really could use a light-renovation and detailed cleaning. I got my food to go because I just didn't feel comfortable eating inside the restaurant.

I had two al pastor tacos and one cheese pupusa (was ~ 10 dollars all together). The first time I tried al pastor was a few months back and I immediately fell in love but unfortunately this time my experience was more meh. The meat was incredibly juicy, or maybe greasy is a better word; the second taco's tortillas were thoroughly soaked through before I finished the first. Despite this, the meat wasn't particularly flavorful. :( It was overall a meh taco experience. The cheese pupusa and its side cabbage salad were really fantastic though and that I'd eat again.

Food wise it was just average. Price to portion was good (I was very full by the end if it) and there was lots of indoor seating.

~20y ago they invented the big more than you can eat 2lb+ burrito at la costena which has since been redeveloped. Now everybody has those and people know extra carbs make you fat and diabetic. So times have moved on.

At LC they made popular standing in an assembly line and pointing to what you wanted in a burrito. Since they were the first and this was before google free lunches; people would queue up out the door, point and drive off w their lunch.

Fish taco: some white fish, probably basa. About 5$. After the 15% tip was 5.50ish. Spicy, they added cayenne and white pepper so you didn't get any fishy taste. If you get this to go they throw in free chips which you don't get if you eat there.

Didn't try the asada/pastor/carnitas/pollo burritos or tacos. I think they still have a window/bins where you can point to what you want in your customized burrito.

There are so many taquerias around you should find one to your tastes. Some want big chunks of asada, some want a non greasy relleno, some want a big burrito; the bigger the better. Some want ceviche. Some want home style enchiladas, some want a particular mole sauce.

Tables sticky. Free wifi if you are an xfinity customer.
